FPCCI is organizing Pakistan 's participation in the Tripoli International Trade Fair scheduled to be held from 2 to 12 April 2009 at Tripoli Libya for which FPCCI has invited applications from the interested companies for participation through its Member Bodies all over Pakistan. The participation will be organized with the close cooperation of Trade Development Authority and Pakistan Embassy in Libya.
The Tripoli International Trade Fair is being viewed as an important event in the wake of liberalized policies recently announced by Libya. Pakistan's participation in Tripoli Trade Fair will therefore provide opportunity to its exporters and manufacturers of Pakistan to capture major share of the Libyan market.
It is expected that Tripoli International Trade Fair will provide opportunities to Pakistani companies to do a good business during the trade fair and their interaction with the Libyan businessmen will open new avenues for promotion of long term bilateral trade and economic relations.
The Pakistani companies which are regularly participating Tripoli International Trade Fair under the banner of FPCCI had expressed their satisfaction on the out-come of their participation and they are of the view that Pakistani products are in great demand in Libya but due to lack of proper projection and marketing of our products in the Libyan market Pakistan's export to Libya is confined to only a few items.
Some of the Pakistani products which are in great demand include bed-sheets, towels, tent & canvas, kitchenware, leather goods, brass items, sports goods, surgical items, food products (rice, spices, etc), ceramics, artificial jewellery, handicrafts, cosmetics, plastic products, textile, denim, furniture, onyx, etc.
Pakistan Pavilion has always been the great attraction in Tripoli International Trade Fair and Libyan Press and media give a wide coverage to Pakistan Pavilion.
