Islamabad, Mr. Sultan Chawla, President, Pakistan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry has appointed former President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and member of Management Committee Mian Akram Farid as Chairman of FPCCI Islamabad Office.
Mian Akram Farid took charge as Chairman, FPCCI Islamabad Office in a simple but magnificent ceremony held at FPCCI Islamabad in which Mr. Tariq Saeed, former President FPCCI, President SAARC Chamber, and FPCCI Businessmen Panel Chairman was the chief guest. Acting President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Shaban Khalid, Vice President ICCI Muhammad Ishtiaq Qureshi, Chairman Founder Group and former ICCI President Khalid Javed, former ICCI Presidents Munawar Mughal, Abdul Rauf, Zubair Ahmed Malik, Tariq Sadiq, Nasir Khan, former ICCI executive member Khalid Iqbal Malik and large number of Islamabad based traders & industrialists as well as traders of Rawalpindi Forward Block also participated in this ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, President SAARC Chambers and Chairman FPCCI Businessmen Panel Tariq Saeed congratulated Mian Akram Farid on taking charge as Chairman, FPCCI Islamabad Office and hoped that he will take local business community into confidence in all matters. He also lauded the efforts of outgoing Chairman FPCCI Islamabad Office Mr. Munawar for his untiring efforts to serve the cause of businessmen.
He said the world is facing economic recession and due to this phenomenon, Pakistan is also passing through a difficult period of its history. He said terrorism, law and order, militancy and many other problems are big challenges for the government and government alone cannot cope with all these issues.
Therefore, he said traders and industrialists would have to play a positive role for pulling the country out of economic crunch. He also called upon the government to come out with a specific plan, in consultation with business community, to steer the country out of these big challenges. He appealed to the traders and industrialists to support the poor and needy people from their income and contribute significantly to philanthropic activities so that they could play a better role in mitigating the country's difficulties.
Expressing his views, Founder Group Chairman and former ICCI President Khalid Javed said close collaboration and supportive relationship between FPCCI and ICCI is must to promote the cause of business community. He said Chairman Businessmen Panel Tariq Saeed has dedicated his life to serve the interests of businessmen; therefore, Founder Group extends its unconditional support to him.
In his address, newly elected Chairman FPCCI Islamabad Office Mian Akram Farid said Businessmen Panel Chairman Tariq Saeed and FPCCI President Sultan Chawla have posed their confidence in him and he will try his level best to come up to their expectations to serve the business community. He said as former President, he has been striving for the cause of business people from the platform of ICCI and now from a bigger forum, he will be in a better position to highlight their issues in government circles for their resolution.
ICCI Acting President Shaban Khalid, Vice President Muhammad Ishtiaq Qureshi, former Presidents Munawar Mughal and Zubair Ahmed Malik also addressed the gathering and congratulated Mian Akram Farid on taking charge as Chairman FPCCI Islamabad Office. They expressed their full cooperation to him and also thanked Chairman Businessmen Panel Tariq Saeed for his support to Founder Group candidate.
