Mr. Sultan Ahmed Chawla, The President, Federation of Pakistan
Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) has strongly denied the news of
formation of any political party by FPCCI. In a statement issued here he
said that FPCCI has not decided to form any political party as reported in a
section of press.
He said infact Mr. Tariq Sayeed, Chairman of ruling businessmen panel
announced that in future whenever elections will held in Pakistan the group
will support one MNA and two MPAs from every city of Pakistan irrespective
of their party affiliation and the only condition will be that candidate
must be from business/trade community securing party ticket will be the
responsibility of the candidate and once the respective political party
nominate any member of business community in such elections then the support
will be extended to him.
Mr. Sultan Ahmed Chawla said that the purpose of this decision is that the
business community strongly feels that participation of business community
should increase which can enable the community to participate in economic
and commercial issues with in their party and parliament. |
