A three day Pakistan- UK conference on
cooperation in Health Care industry commencing explored untapped potential
of collaboration and business opportunities between the two countries for
mutually beneficial outcomes. Arranged by the Pakistan High Commission, the
conference titled Health Care Initiative Pakistan aims at bringing together
key government departments, private organizations, regulatory bodies,
experts and
business
concerns in health care industry to discover how the various stake holders
could co-operate in this sector in improving the health standards in the
South Asian country.
The inaugural session of the Conference will take place at the Pakistan High
Commission. Federal Health Secretary Khushnood Akhtar Lashari is leading
Pakistan's delegation comprising doctors, health management experts,
representatives of pharmaceutical and manufacturers of various sector
products.
British Deputy High Commissioner based in Islamabad who is also Director of
Trade and Investment for Pakistan, Robert W. Gibson and Deputy High
Commissioner in Karachi Mike Neeb will present papers on themes'
opportunities and Business Climate in Pakistan for British Health Care
Industry 'and' Delivering World Class Health Care in London' respectively.
Large number of senior managers and managing directors of concerned
organizations will share perspective on several dimensions of enhancing
cooperation, investment and trade in health care industry including Head of
International ABHI UK Theresa Ashford, Senior Sector Manager International
Health Care UK Trade and Investment Robert Kipps; Managing Director
Healthcare Dimensions UK Dr. Shahid Raza,Managing Director Eolas Biosciences
UK Dr. Michael F O'Neil and Director Policy Consulting, National Institute
for Health and Clinical Excellence Kalipso Chalkidou.
The visiting delegates will also visit various health care organizations
around London. Pakistan's Secretary Health will also meet with heads of
several health care concerns including President of the Academy of Medical
Royal Colleges, Sir Neil Douglas. The conference is expected to leading to
increase in cooperation and business in this vital social sector. |
