BM. Would you like to comment on where are your branches are working?
Ans: Well, our branches are working in Karachi, Lahore, Multan and
Rawalpindi. In Rawalpindi Brigadier Dr. Saleem (a pioneer in Pakistan
regarding pain) is servicing and managing the whole team in Pakistan.
BM. Please, differentiate between the traditional and scientific way
of treatment.
Ans: As far as the traditional way of treatment is concerned, is all
about few medicines which are diagnosed the patient at a particular time. At
the other hand scientific way of treatment all the parts of the body are
handled through latest technology. Let me talk about pain as the pain is a
multi disciplinary activity so there are many pain physician and pain
specialist are involved to fulfill this process.
BM. There are some such diseases for that treatment has not been
discovered. How do you comment on that?
Ans: The thing is that the Almighty Allah created many diseases among
them some are treatable and some are not. We handle such patients who have
already gone
through treatment but the pain is still there, so to remove the pain take
patients in our pain centre. As a result if we can't handle the disease but
we handle the pain and for that purposes research is going on throughout the
world.
BM. Please tell us about the technology?
Ans: It's a very simple technology. Let me tell you that pain
conducts into centre nervous system from pedestal system or from skin and
the flux of pain is handled through a particular part way till reaching to
the central nervous system. It's pertinent to note that the pain doesn't
stop here rather it has its depth as well that's called Sciatica and for
that excess of pain medicines are given going into the roots space in order
to reduce soiling and pain. In this continuation process nerve becomes clear
while and lessens soiling. Further nerve's pressure conducts into leg and
then comes to an end. In developing countries like USA, the Sciatica
patients are sent into the pain centre. This pain centre's procedure becomes
70% successful and by attempting more twice or thrice time the pain further
20% becomes less so there is no need of surgery at all. If there is a little
bit complain then again the patient is sent to the pain centre.
BM. Would you like to comment on your treatment process?
Ans: For normal pain patient a general physician suggests two or
three weeks bed rest. If the pain doesn't get normal, doesn't leave its
pillars, there is nuerogentic effect and if the pain procedure get fail then
the patient is taken to operation theatre for operation. Another thing if
the patient is involved in the procedures of pain then there is no need of
surgery for 70-90% patient. When the pain procedure gets fail after the
surgery then again the patient brought in the pain centre.
BM. Does your way of treatment is expensive?
Ans: Well, I think this way of treatment is inexpensive. The patients
who find out different ways for his/her treatment rather to consult a
particular specialist, then it becomes expensive and spent a lot of money in
this regard.
BM. Please brief us about your plans?
Ans: As far as I am concerned, we are primitive stage and the rest of
the world is very advanced in this field. We have to learn more, to research
more and additionally I am visiting China to attend an International
Conference for more information. As regard the technology and equipment are
concerned here in Pakistan, actually we need to treat the cancer patient.
BM. What are your expectations from the Government in that particular field?
Ans: Government should recognize the pain institutions, which is not
possible in Pakistan. At world level it is given much attention and all the
specialists' team co-operate with each other.
BM. What are your final thoughts for the business monitor?
Ans: Many people are working distinguishably in their concerned
field. I would like to mention the name of Brigadier Dr. Saleem who is the
president of pain society. Apart this we have our centrer in Agha Khan
Hospital and other parts of the world. |
