APTMA to remove supply-side constraints

LAHORE: Chairman of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Punjab), Ejaz Gohar, has said he will launch a crash programme and ensure that supply-side constraints facing the Punjab industry are removed. He was addressing the annual general meeting of the association soon after his election as the new chairman on Wednesday.

He said the long-term objective of making the industry globally competitive would continue and he and his team would put in best efforts to realise the objectives of the association. A new look would be given to the association by inclusion of divergent groups and voices into the board to make it a broad-based, cohesive and truly representative body of the industry, he said.

He said he would address industry issues with renewed vigour for making it a viable and profitable industry shorn of different impediments which impeded the realisation of its potential. Besides, he added APTMA would lead from the front to contribute meaningfully to initiating intensive industrialisation for common good and prosperity. Other office-bearers and members elected were SM Tanveer of Din Textile Mills (senior vice-chairman), Wisal A Monnoo of Wisal Kamal Fabrics (vice-chairman) and Syed Ali Ahsan of Ashiana Cotton Products (treasurer).
