President SAARC CCI Lauds Governor Sindh for his Performance

Islamabad (PR) President SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SAARC CCI) and former President of FPCCI, Mr. Tariq Sayeed has appreciated Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, Governor of Sindh for his earnest efforts towards socio-economic development of the province and hoped those will bring positive results in near future.

President SAARC CCI in his recent call on to H.E. Governor Sindh, President SAARC CCI exchanged views on wide range of socio-economic issues faced by country and the Province of Sindh and also enlightened him about the 3rd SAARC Business Leaders Conclave, scheduled on November 22-23, 2009 at Colombo, Sri Lanka and construction of SAARC CCI Building Headquarters at Islamabad.

Mr. Sayeed said that since the day, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan has taken over as the Governor of Sindh on December 27, 2002, the province has undergone a radical change particularly in terms of infrastructure development in Karachi . "Many developmental projects under his Governorship have been completed, which reflect his commitment towards improving socio-economics of the Province particularly, Karachi " said Mr. Sayeed and added that one of the enterprising features was his availability to all walks of life including Business community, which has made him a popular in the province.

While lauding his approach for establishing close contacts with the business community of Karachi , Mr. Sayeed suggested to the Hon'ble Governor to meet business representatives from Hyderabad , Sukkur, Larkana and Dadu under umbrella of FPCCI and added that a meeting will soon be organized in this respect. As chief patron of Aero Club, Mr. Sayeed also informed the Governor about the services of Karachi Aero Club, which was the oldest Club for Training of Pilots in sub continent established over 100 years.

He said that the Club has been the source of training pilots in Pakistan but unfortunately for few years Government had stopped the subsidy to the Club on account of which, it was impossible for the poor candidates to become pilot. He requested to the Governor for restoring of subsidy to Club through Civil Aviation Authority so that Club would be able to provide Training to poor candidates who can not afford the Fee for training. He said that in this respect he has discussed the matter with Senior Minister of Sindh, Peer Mazhar-ul-Haque, who was agreed to the proposal that poor candidates should be provided equal opportunity and ensured his cooperation for restoration of subsidy to the Club.

He said that President Aero Club and Secretary General would give presentation to Governor and the Senior Minister in this respect and said until unless the Government will not give subsidy, the Club will remain inaccessible to the poor and hoped the Governor will take appropriate measure for restoration of subsidy.
